So I may (or may not) have an opportunity to talk about Fart Fetishism for about 12 minutes here in the local BDSM community; nothing too big, maybe 30 to 75 people tops I'd assume.

I wanted to farm the idea out to you; if you were talking to people about Fart Fetishism, what would you talk about?

I've broken it down some already but maybe you have other ideas or other things that can be touched on that you believe to be important to the understanding of Fart Fetishism to a layman.

    Eproctophilia, aka Fart Fetishism

    Define the concept.
    - A sexual kink involving the arousal to various aspects of flatulence (i.e. sound, smell, humiliation, taboo behavior, etc.)
    - Likely in the family of other toilet fetishes, watersports, etc.

    Mention commonly associated kinks.
    - facesitting, humiliation, objectification, head scissors, smothering, body worship

    Outline the types of enjoyment
    - Consensual, shared between loving partners (add examples)
    - Could including begging
    - Consensual non-consent, used as an element of torture (add examples)

Research and mention any history or statistics.
    - PornHub search statistics for last year (not super interesting)
    - Fart Fetishist study (poor test subject, poor example of us)

    Time for Questions.

Sounds interesting. If the idea is to raise awareness, I'd think about mentioning some of the struggles (fart) fetishists experience. How it's automatically dismissed by so many even in the link community as "gross".
I once heard the reason we clink wine glasses before drinking wine is to please all 5 senses for a better drinking experience (clinking for the sense of sound). With a sexual experience too, the more senses you can please, the more intense the overall experience. Aside from the femdom aspect of our fetish (high form of submission, humiliation) we're very acutely hitting our senses of smell, sound, sometimes taste etc. all at once. Not so different than the enjoyment of giving a woman oral sex as far as sensory overload.
Not trying to convince anyone to try it if it's not for them, just demonstrating how it's not so crazy on a psych level.

I agree with you. The problem we seem to mostly face is zero exposure or bad exposure, those who have talked to a "fart fetishist" generally speak of negative experiences; partly that's because the vast majority of us hide behind our computer screens so the exposure locally is poor, and online, we're littered with bad example after bad example. Some of this is ESL folks who we share our fetish with and their tact is different than those from the US, Canada, UK, etc. but some of this is just horny dudes thinking and talking with their dicks.

It's at least partly us that have to take an effort to be better examples and also boldly show ourselves as much as possible. Foot fetish has gained greater acceptance through exposure; so if we want the same for this fetish, we have to take the initiative to do so. I'm trying to do what I can, both information wise and in the local community but it's not easy and it's hard when you feel like you're standing alone.

That said, I do understand the mainstream misconceptions; I've had two girls openly laugh "with" me about it. And granted, I get it but, at the same time, no one would appreciate me laughing about their fetish, however, we're the extreme minority, we're very outnumbered in the local community and our numbers are probably even small in the online community compared to other fetishes.

I doubt the TED thing is going to happen but I still think we should continue to push for better information, find people willing to do more studies, increase people's understanding. For me, it is all about the Femdom and submission aspects but I can fully understand and appreciate the thought that an increase in sense participation can lead to a richer experience.

If you have anything you'd like to see on my current project, let me know: http://eproctophilia.org/

Check out the 4 page case study if you're interested, it's linked on that site; it's the only official published account of a fart fetishist which is what all the current articles are based on if you Google "fart fetish." I think we need more and better information, and we need intelligent fetishists to care about it.
